Internship and Volunteer Opportunities | Último Recurso – Climate Litigation NGO
Último Recurso , the largest young Portuguese NGO dedicated to climate litigation, is currently recruiting new members, interns, and volunteers across multiple areas.
These opportunities offer students a unique chance to apply and expand their knowledge while contributing to a cause with significant climate and social impact.
Founded in 2022, Último Recurso uses law as a central tool to hold key actors accountable for the climate crisis. Since its creation, UR has mobilized young people around climate justice, building a strong civic and legal presence with national recognition.

Ensures UR operates as a healthy, ethical, and high-performing organization, managing recruitment, onboarding, organizational culture, wellbeing, and staff support. -
Finance & Operations
Coordinates internal financial operations, budget management, compliance, and reporting to ensure the financial health of the organization. -
Policy, Impact & Government Relations
Manages UR’s institutional positioning, strategic external engagement with governments, multilateral bodies, NGOs, and universities, and develops official policy statements. -
Communications and Advocacy
Amplifies UR’s mission through strategic storytelling, campaigns, social media engagement, and outreach to key audiences. -
Development
Transforms ideas into impactful and sustainable projects, leading the full project cycle: concept, proposal writing, monitoring, reporting, and dissemination. -
Information Technology
Maintains the efficiency, security, and innovation of UR’s digital infrastructure, supporting all departments with internal systems and technological solutions. -
Project "Justice for Our Future"
A climate accountability project under the Legal Systems and Rule of Law pillar, enforcing Portugal’s climate obligations through strategic legal action, aligning national targets with the Paris Agreement, and promoting climate justice for future generations.
