Job opportunity at Viking!

Viking was founded in 1997 and provides destination-focused journeys on rivers, oceans, and lakes around the world.

Viking is looking for candidates over the age of 18 for its river cruises sailing in the European Union, who want the opportunity to grow in a career in Tourism and Hospitality.

Location: European Rivers (such as Danube, Rhine, Moselle, Seine, Rhone, Elbe).

Positions in our River division:

  • Chef de Rang;
  • Bar Waiter;
  • Trainee Chef de Rang;
  • Stateroom Steward/ess;
  • Trainee Stateroom;
  • Steward/ess;
  • Chef de Partie;
  • Commis de Cuisine;
  • Trainee Galley;
  • Utility;
  • Guest Service Agent.

Compensation / month: Entry level gross salary 2.582 EUR.

Accommodation:

  • All our vessels are new and well maintained; With modern crew cabins for 2 people, comprising of bunkbeds, private bathroom, and flat screen TV;
  • Full board is provided, and the use of Wi-Fi is free.

Meals:  All meals are provided on board.

Working hours: Seven days a week, approximately 72 hours per week.

Expenses: The first and last trip of the season, to and from the vessel, will be reimbursed after the successful completion of the probation period (max. 300 EUR per flight).

Requirements: English speaking candidates.

For recent graduates with little or no professional experience, Viking has the possibility of offering entry-level positions - such as Cook - or even joining our trainee programmes, which can be completed in 2 to 5 weeks.

These programmes are paid and cannot include internship programmes and are available for Waiter, Stateroom Steward and Chef positions. On successful completion of these programmes, candidates start a new contract on board our cruises.
